Major Responsibilities

As the title suggests, this is a customer facing role. The ideal

position:


FINANCIAL CONTROLLER - BATAM Post Date: 23 Apr 09

Successful candidate will be a key member of the Indonesia management
team, and will report directly to the Group Financial Controller in
Singapore. Responsibilities include overall management of the
financial, accounting, general administration functions and statutory
compliance of the Batam business units. The role includes
participation in the development and implementation of policies and
procedures in accordance with corporate policies and good business
practices. The Financial Controller will supervise the finance and
administration team and oversee the revenue, expenditure, payroll,
taxation and financial reporting cycles. Furthermore, the successful
candidate will work closely with the operations teams to provide
timely financial information to enable business decisions to be made.
In addition, the successful candidate will perform other relevant
duties and projects as assigned by the Singapore senior management
team from time to time

Requirements:

* Successful applicant is to be stationed in BATAM, with periodic
travel to Singapore
* At least 8 years financial-related experience with at least 2
years in a financial controlling capacity or similar senior financial
management positions
* Bachelor Degree in Business, Accounting or Finance and/or
recognized professional accounting qualification, CPA
* Experience in large audit firms an advantage
* Familiar with Indonesian tax regulations and accounting standards
* Experienced in computerized accounting systems, preferably with
major ERP systems. Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
* Strong technical and organizational skills
* Experience in managing diverse teams and ability to work and
deal with people from different cultures
* Highly committed with ability to work under pressure and be
willing to take a hands-on approach and deliver results.
* With high integrity, good analytical skills, and strong
attention to details
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

This position is based in Jakarta, reporting directly to Finance & Accounting Director. Must have experienced working in a large multinational Accounting firm (ie. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

§         Monitor the efficiency and accuracy of computerized accounting system, ensuring proper coding of entries into general ledger.

 

§         Monitor the accuracy/reasonableness of financial and statistical data provided by other departments.  Resolve data problems and provide timely reporting of unresolved issues to management.

 

§         Perform monthly reviews of the journal entries, sub-ledgers, reconciliations, accounting schedules and other accounting reports prepared by staff or received from other departments.  Report on problems/issues detected and recommend corrective actions to management.

 

§         Assist internal management with interpreting accounts, records, operating performance indicators and financial statements.  Prepare written reports as directed.

 

§         Supervise the preparation of schedules, supporting documentation (including narrative responses) for the outside auditors for annual and quarterly financial reviews.

 

§         Prepare and supervise preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and maintain related sub-ledgers and account reconciliations.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

§         Bachelor's Degree in Accounting

The successful candidates shall presenting our portfolio to prospective clients, especially telecommunication, EPC, or oil & gas company, attending biddings, meeting with clients, also closing sales. The candidates also have to establish and maintain good contact with customers to identify new opportunities to expand existing business, and be responsible for creating demand for the company services.

 

Requirement:

      Male/Female

      Minimum Bachelor (S1) degree
    *
      Minimum 5 years successful sales experience in Telecommunication, EPC, or Oil and Gas sector
    *
      Able to manage and build high-end customer relationship and have strong presentation skill to deliver ideas clearly

      A very good communicator with strong negotiation and influencing skills
    *
      Highly self confidence and energy, self motivated, sales driven, target and customer satisfaction oriented
    *
      Must be fluent in English oral & written
